Personal Reasons People Don't Succeed In Business

# 1: The way I Think.
I told you last week that almost as soon as you were born your mind was being programed. Everyone in your immediate surroundings had an effect on what you learned. As you grew older more people were added to your brain training,I call it that because that is what it is. No one is trying to hurt you,They are all trying to protect you by teaching you the things that will prepare you for your life journey. For the first 18 years of your life you are being brain trained in every aspect of your life. It isn't until you enter college that you are allowed to THINK,(use your brain freely). Actually that is what college is all about, Yes they keep teaching you but now you are allowed to start making your own choices. The teaching at this level is What book to look in to find the information you need. That's why the reference section in libraries is so large. Now we have computers also. The good news is we can choose to change the way we think. Instead of thinking like everyone, we can actually choose to think differently. We can reprogram our brain. Think of your brain as a sponge and there are pans of red,blue,green,yellow,black,watter. If you put that sponge in each one of those pans then squeezed it out in a clear glass bowl it would be a very ugly color. I told you this to let you know the first thing you must do to start changing the way you think is.
Rule # 1 Protect your brain. Be very selective about what you allow yourself to hear. Don't allow negative music,movies,books or PEOPLE to enter your brain. I know people can't enter your brain but what they say can, remember how you got in this mess in the first place it was what people said. What people say has the biggest influence on your thinking, Don't stay around a negative person get away as fast as you can. Stop watching TV that is counterproductive,If you just have to have noise going on get some audio books. I suggest, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, or Acres of Diamonds by Dr.Russell Conwell, Spiritual marketing by Joe Vitale to name a few. There are hundreds of books that can teach you about reprogramming your mind.
Rule # 2 Start associating with positive people.start doing positive things every day. Sit down by yourself NO TV,Radio,IPod,Computer. Just you a tablet & pin. now write on the top of the page I AM(your name), Them list all of the things you want to be, All of the traits you admire.Be specific not vague. when you have your list made rewrite it again with I AM in front of each one. Tape a list on your bathroom mirror, while you are getting ready for work read it out loud as many times as you can, type it on a index card put it on the visor in your car keep repeating it all the time, 500 times a day until you BELIEVE it. I AM beautiful, I AM Intelligent,I AM 6ft. & weigh 165lbs., I Am very happy, You get the point. Put everything you want to be on your list. It will take a little time but soon you will start believing you are that person and then you WILL BE that person. Repeat your list out loud, Y our brain needs to hear these things . remember thats how it was trained. thats how you will retrain it.
RULE # 3 Spend time alone. clear your mind meditate on what you really want out of life. during this time be careful negative thoughts will try to enter your mind, don't let them. Put a positive thought in there fast. Another thing that will happen at this time is you will start thinking about things you thought you had forgotten forever, some of these things you may have to work through,you might have to forgive someone that has hurt you in the past that won't be easy but if you are able to forgive it will give you peace and you will be able to put it behind you for good.
RULE # 4 Set Your Goals. You need to write down a short term goal for 3 months. A medium term goal for a year. A long term goal for 5 years. It must be written down because now you need to figure out a plan to reach those goals. figure out something to do every day that will help you get to each goal. Now you have a plan start acting on it each day you will be a little closer to your goals.
RULE # 5 Do something nice for someone you don't know. Pay for someones lunch. Complement a coworker performance. Hold the door open for someone. This kind of thing should be a natural part of your daily life. This will make you like yourself more.
RULE # 6 Don't argue with anyone. You can't win, you won't change the way they think and you will get angry and lose your joy. Life is to short to spend time getting angry. Anger causes you to do and say things that are harmful to yourself.
RULE # 7 Every Day Think of The Good Things In Your Life. Even if your life is in the toilet right now there are still good things in your life. If you got drunk last night and got arrested, the good thing is you didn't wreck your car and kill someone else or yourself. If your boss tells you your fired, You didn't like that job anyway and now you have time to find a better job you will be happy doing. Just Look for the positive side in all situations.
Changing the way you think is not an easy thing to do it takes time,patients and hard work. You won't get immediate results,You have been trained to think like everyone else for as many years as you are old so understandably it will take some time to reprogram your mind. I wish i could give you a magic button to push but there is no such thing. You can do this, You just have to make the right choice and work with it every day, as time goes by it will get easier until one day you will realize that you just did something that is totally different than you would have done a few months ago, then you will KNOW you are changing, becoming the person YOU WANT TO BE.
