Topic of the Day: Publishing
Publishing is the process of production and dissemination of literature or information – the activity of making information available for public view. In some cases authors may be their own publishers, meaning originators and developers of content also provide media to deliver and display the content. Traditionally, the term refers to the distribution of printed works such as books (the "book trade") and newspapers. With the advent of digital information systems and the Internet, the scope of publishing has expanded to include electronic resources, such as the electronic versions of books and periodicals, as well as websites, blogs, video games and the like. Publishing includes the stages of the development, acquisition, copyediting, graphic design, production – printing (and its electronic equivalents), and marketing and distribution of newspapers, magazines, books, literary works, musical works, software and other works dealing with information, including the electronic media. Book and magazine publishers spend a lot of their time buying or commissioning copy. At a small press, it is possible to survive by relying entirely on commissioned material. But as activity increases, the need for works may outstrip the publisher's established circle of writers.

Article Marketing Directories (08/19/2008)
Article Hubs, also referred to as Article Directories, are web sites that accept and archive articles on a variety of topics. Either categorized by subject or other criteria, submissions may be accepted from authors on an international scale. They serve several purposes and goals. For one, they provide web site, newsletter and ezine owners with a repository of content that can be syndicated freely, provided that the articles are republished in their original form and that hyperlinks within the articles and resource boxes remain active. Another major purpose of such an article directory is to provide a platform of exposure for the authors of the submitted articles. Since the articles can only be re-printed if the credits to the original author remain intact, article directories have become a popular method for self-promotion, lead and traffic generation, as well as a vehicle for web and affiliate marketers. Please note: We are not a general article repository. New article submissions must pertain to article marketing, article writing, article directories, making money with writing, and related topics. All article submissions will be approved manually, and non-related articles will be rejected.
